You might be able to do a summer course, or possibly overload in a later semester (might be WAM dependent). If not, you could decide to spread your subjects so you're doing 2 subjects in that extra semester - but still try to avoid having another semester.

Hi there! Don't know what specific major you're doing, but generally, as D94 said, you might be able to do a summer course or overload in a later semester if you get a decent enough WAM. :)

That being said, if you're thinking of doing Accounting and you want to take all the courses you need to make sure you satisfy CPA/CA requirements, you might face a bit more trouble. You should check out the list of courses you'll have to do and observe which semesters they're normally offered in, then create a sample schedule for the rest of your years at uni.

Also, if the course you failed is a prerequisite to any future courses that you'll have to take for your major... you might want to think about getting it done ASAP, or it definitely will affect how long you stay at uni for.

Not like that...take it easy. Just fill the exam form again during next exam date for which you have failed. You can complete your graduation on time.

if worst comes to worst you just take the subject again. I've crammed 16 subjects into 3 semesters, however, this wasn't due to failing anything.

You can do summer school or overload so it doesn't delay graduation. Suggestion is to do this as soon as possible because your final summer typically is filled with internships/job hunting. Alternatively, some employers will be understanding and let you join as a graduate-equivalent role if you only have one subject outstanding which you need to balance/complete in your own time. That being said, be prepared for interviewers to ask you why you failed and what you plan to do differently.
