Opera is good, but it always seems to stop responding for like 20 seconds then it goes back to normal again.

Well if you didn't use IE/Microsoft specific tags/html/javascript/active x etc then you wouldn't have that problem. :D

At the moment I have a choice between IE 6 and the latest versions of Netscape Navigator and Mozilla... I am using XP, so which one would be the most secure and reliable? Any ideas? I have been using IE for far too long and it is time to change...

damn the resurection of old threads

btw, i've tried them all and i'm sticking with opera 7.5

netcaptor seems to crash alot lately
mozilla firefox is buggy when it comes to flash and java
IE is crap
netscape is the same as mozilla which is too bloated
safari, konquorer etc... are all too buggy

opera is easily to most stable out of the slim browsers.

Cool, thanks, but I have one more question...

Firefox 0.9 or Mozilla 1.7? Is the only real difference between the two in terms of what I want to make use of (re. the irc chat component of mozilla 1.7)?

Edit: I have been a pc user since the age of 5, but I have never cared for trying to determine how everything operates... Sorry if the questions seem very basic.

The mods have been known to cry over multiple threads in the (very distant) past... :p

firefox is browser only, while mozilla is also a email client and web page editor
