well someone was bound to not like american beauty! though i must say you're the first person i've met whose ever said they didn't think AB was great.

as a film, it was so jizmy cos the acting was so well done, ricky's home video shots were funky and kevin spacey just narrated the whole damn thing so well. and annette bening *swoons* she was fanshpastic! i can't get over "fuck me harder your royal majesty!" (or something like that)

it was just like a two hour non-stop orgasm for the senses!

I could add another couple of hundred but these are the first ten I thought of. Some are from the eighties when I was a little kid but there still classic to me.

The Shawshank Redemption
The Matrix :D
The Labrynth:p
Clueless:p
Annie:p
The Lord of the Rings:D
The Professional
Chorus line:p
The Sixth Sense
Girl Interupted:)

basically any movie with dancing, muppets or action sequences are what I love!!!!

Well just saying "ew..", "its weird" and "there isn't anyone hot in it" (which isn't what you should judge a good movie by anyways, although there is Thora Birch and Mena Suvari in it :d) isn't really justifying it...

But I won't hold that against you, American Beauty isn't for everyone...

No, I must say you have great tastes when it comes to movies, I thought I was the only one who like 80's movies, yes and they do have a paricular feel about them that is absent in recent films, I also loved Weird science and Ferris Buellers Day out, if you like those movies you should definitely watch 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Can't Buy Me Love' and Maybe "The Heavenly Kid". I'm sure you'll enjoy them as much as I did.

I'm sure everyone likes light-hearted and funny movies. It's just that when your talking about your favourite movies of all time, they sorta need some depth and perhaps a "great deal of thought".

I like "stupid fun" movies as much as the next person, but they don't move me or make me think thats why they aren't on my list (with the exception of Monty Python and the Holy Grail :D)...
