Hello anyone know why financial maths such as interest rates and loan repayments don't appear in exams often?

Because they can only get so difficult, and often take up a very large chunk of marks (around 7 for a complete question).

The thing is beforehand, the 3U paper was only 84 marks so 7 would already take up a substantial percentage of marks that could be otherwise allocated to things actually in the 3U course.

You'll see more of financial mathematics when you do actuarial subjects and finance itself though.

But as for HSC, they possess very little weighting. I doubt it got tested in 3U lately. And as Carrotsticks said, there's not much to be tested on in this area, unless if they really want to go through stuff like Present value, annuities, future value, bonds, shares and all that (which I doubt will happen anyway).

It's a 2U topic
2U topics can appear in 3U and 4U.

Consider the typical 4U Volumes slicing problems involving parabolic slices, where Simpson's Rule needs to be used to compute the area.

Yeah but usually they only test calculus type stuff from 2U, I don't think they can fit everything from 2U and 3U into the exam

And I don't do 4U so I don't know lol
