1st semester compulsory:
accg100 (s1 only)
econ110 (s1 only)

2nd semester compulsory:
accg101 (s2 only)
econ111 (s2 only)

there're quite a few elective units such as acst101, stat170, econ141, mktg101, bba, comp or isys 100lvl

so basicly u can put any 2 of the above into semester 1, and another 2 electives into semester 2

Thanks for your reply havy. My other question is how do you tell compulsory units from the electives from the above link ? All the subjects there are nothing but descriptions

Look at what you have to do under specific requirements, see if the 100 level ones are on during s1 (semester 1), if they are do them. If you have enrolled into all the ones you are required to do, then you can fill the rest of your cps with electives.. unless your required ones take up all 12cp..

I think that makes sense..

They are compulsory if it says "required".

if u do accg in 3 yrs (with no summer course)
u'll hav 22 units in 6 semesters (3*20+4*2=68credit points)
normally ppl do 4 per semester for 2yrs then 3 per semester for the last yr.

Depends on how many cp your subjects are. People usually do 12cp, so its between 3-4 subjects each semester.

lol it seems that 1st yr accg is a living hell. (nah its actually not that bad)

I had the same study pattern for 1st yr 1st semester:

ACCG100 - very useful foundation accounting unit, alex was good, but the unit is still quite boring (you can try accg105, its just as boring but easier, hence may not help you as much on later accouting units.)
ACST101 - pretty plain unit, I'll call it a cakewalk from a 3rd yr perpective, you can pass even if you completely ignore the "element theory" (its only 30% weighting)
STAT170 - easy unit, you may find it boring but its so damn easy if you are ok at math
ECON110 - boring but compulsory, once you understand the stuff (instead of remembering), everything will workout perfect for you.

Just want to remind you boxer k since you are doing an accounting major you must do ACCG1b either way. You can do either accg1a or 105 though.

No more than 2 PCs in the course of your degree. Clear Passes minimum in all CA prerequisite subjects.

These are conditions for you to enter the CA/CPA program, not necessarily for simply graduating.

Id say the opposite with lectures. They are commonly one hour, but for some subjects they can put 2 or 3 in a row (e.g some of the economics units, stat etc)

but most of the accg units, accg100, 105, 101, 201, 250, 253.... they all have 2 hour lectures (10 min break in the middle). the only exception that i've had was accg200.
