Post some questions up on BoS. You should stay away from Cambridge.

Thats why you should never use Maths in Focus. Use Cambridge or Fitzpatrick.

7. (t12-t3)/9= -1.4 therefore common dif is -1.4=r
t6=t3+3r=1.4

8. (n-m)/6=r
t7= m+ (n-m)/3

9. 4p+3-(p+5)=8p-2-(4p+3)
3p-2=4p-5 p=3

10. r=3 tn=6+3n 6p+15=6+3n
3n=6p+9
n=2p+3 number of terms is 2p+3

12. t1=6 t5=2t4
(t4-6)/3=(2t4-6)/4
4t4-24=6t4-18
2t4+6=0 t4=-3 common dif. is -3

when u do them, just remember that the difference is the same between all terms so t2-t1=t3-t2 or t2-t1=(t5-t3)/2
and sometimes it helps to write out the general rule for Tn.

Try Cambridge/Fitzpatrick on a regular basis. It's good for a good background.

I don't see how fitzy 2 unit can be hard. I completed basically all the exercises in 2 unit and I haven't seen any anomaly (i.e. the ones that seem impossible to be completed)...

We're not all as good at maths as you Namu.

Cambridge is really good, u can just start at the beginning and work thru every question, it makes it alot easier because u get slowly pulled into the harder stuff and it becomes clearer what you have to do.

If I dont get a section I'll go from the ridiculously easy begining to the ARGH zOMG Extension.

Which reminds me, I should do all of projectile motion, I found that hard ><

Whats better
a 70% mark in gen maths or a 50% in mathematics

a top 15 rank in gen maths or a 35/40 rank in 2u maths.

If you reckon you are going to be about average in maths in the state, you are looking at 76 aligned mark. To compare that rank with the rank from general maths, you will need to come about top 15%.

So top 50% in maths = top 15% in general maths

ok, what raw mark do you think is needed to get the avg mark in mathematics.

As in before its moderated or something.

I know it changes every year but based on the past years what do you think.

What is the avg mark for mathematics that is needed to get it alligned to 76

I remember I got told that the average mark for maths was 50-60% or something (for 2U) - but that's from my memory - correct me if I'm wrong.
