he is a great athlete, AFL isnt that hard to learn. His size and speed is up there with the biggest in the AFL, his skills will need polishing a lot though i think

He's no big loss to the NRL.. if the AFL were trying to push into Western Sydney.. they should be smart enough to pursue Marshall, Hayne, Jennings etc.. not inbred Qlders

kids arent as fickle as adults, if their heroes are playing a sport that is entertaining they will like it

m8, i think you missed my earlier point. Kids in western sydney don't talk about Khunt and Izzy.. they talk about Marshall and Hayne. Blokes who play in sydney clubs. Especially Western Sydney Clubs

Only works while these players are good enough to be 'heroes' in the sports that they're playing.

Lets presume Folau and Khunt are shit at AFL (not a too farfetched presumption), these kids aren't stupid enough to stay on the bandwagon. I really don't think that this is enough to get young kids interested in AFL long term. Short term, yes it will spark interest, but its probably not sustainable.

gluck to folau, but with the kicking, im not sure that nrl players and afl plays kick in the same style. afl players use 2 hands to hold it, release it and boot it with a huge follow through with their legs, compared to nrl where just bomb it or grubber etc..
