Razer intros 17-button mouse for MMO games

Razer made its contribution to the Gamescom expo today through the Naga. Positioned as the ideal mouse for massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, the USB controller has a unique 12-button pad on the side in addition to the regular five-button layout common to most mice. The sheer range lets any app that supports assigning custom mouse buttons, as well as Razer's own Windows software, use a wide range of shortcuts for very specific tasks. It's particularly tailored to World of Warcraft, where the buttons can replace the usual weapon and spell keys.

The Naga is relatively high-performing regardless of context and has a 5,600DPI laser sensor for tracking. Razer only says the mouse is shipping "soon" but promises it will be available worldwide for $80.

HOLY CARPAL TUNNEL!
QUOTED FOR THE FUCKING TRUTH

+rep will accompany that post when able to.

Another fucking overrated mouse.
I just use a decent optical mouse or maybe a laser mouse.

What if some MMORPG fag who has used the Razer mouse for so long his mummy kicks him off WoW, goes to someone's house to play some WoW on his dodgy, grease-ridden computer and accidentally tries to press imaginary keypads on the side of the mouse,
WHERE IS YOUR RAZER MOUSE NOW?

Seriously, what's wrong with using this standard issue mouse?

Shouldn't cost more than $30.

I guess all the buttons being on the one mouse can keep the left hand free for porn.

:(

I still like using my left fingers to knife, sprint, see scores, call UAVs/airstrikes/a helicopter, throw grenades, swap weapons and basic movement.

Don't think I'll ever need fancy mice.

unless eye am captian hook., arrhh.

a bit of overkill.. every key surrounding wasd, 1-5, t, g, v and mousewheel up/down is more than enough to bind everything you need and feels pretty natural once youve been using the bindings for a bit

those buttons on the mouse look way too easy to wrongly press

it's a proven scientific fact that the number of buttons on ones mouse is inversely proportional to ones penis size

I use the mousewheel to knife, flick up for a quick stab, i also play other games that id rather have a few more buttons on the mouse so i can macro (Sins of a Solar Empire).

That, and my current mouse is REALLY small.

I have used both logitech and Razer gaming mouses and have foudn Razer to be better for FPS online stuff, as a general mouse they can be a bit too sensitive but for gaming you can't go past a razer.

just dont be a fancy prick.

just use what is decent enough to use, all these gaming gear is overrated.
i would even use that plain looking computer that is running engineering and physics simulations to run cod4.
"gaming gear" with neon lights, several button mice, etc. is just too overated.

true gamers can make do.

EDIT: LOL the title got changed from fags to fans. RIFK.

Uncle, if you do decent gaming (COD4, CS:S) DPI can be really good, also artists i know actually use these kind of mouses when GFX Tablets are not needed.

IMO you can probably find a generic brand mouse with the same DPI and button functions, but i havnt found one, yet. Just like headphones, i picked up a pair for $20, best pair ever, better then those ICE shit things ive seen pros wear, and i beat them with mine.
