I started doing functions in the holiday and I came over this question:

Find g(x-1) when g (x)= x^2+2x+3

but I don't get it , do I add -1 to every x value or something?

The book says answer is x^2+2

Im in year 11

no, whereever the "x" is in g(x), you simply replace those with (x-1)
(x-1)^2 + 2(x-1) = 3
