How come?
So if I get a UAI of approximately 85.65 I won't be as disappointed.

Don't you think it is too early to change?

You can still achieve your goal at any time. I remember the time where my goal was over 80 UAI. It's definitely higher now.
I agree. But if it is an unrealistic goal ie. UAI of 100 then maybe you can change it. Unless you have the potential and a good work ethic.

No. I just made up a random digit that seemed about right.

I don't know. I'm not too worried at the moment. Just curious about the whole UAI thing.

Yeah, there's alot of time.

What is your new UAI goal now by the way?

What are you on about? You are coming 1st in four subjects...top 5 in every subject.
Keep that up and you could get a UAI of 99+

Between 93-96.

I'm thinking of doing Resource Economics @ USYD. That requires a UAI of around 84.

Haha. No chance.

Anways, what are you aiming for? (sorry if you've already posted it up and I sound grossly ignorant)

Re: What UAI/course are you aiming for?

People who don't believe in themselves already have no grounds for 90+ UAI.

To ShaonO: From reading several posts of yours, you seem to underestimate the amount of works involved to achieve 99+ UAI. Not all top 5 students from each school will get 99+ UAI. In most of schools, Dux is the only one who pulls off 99 UAI or even lower UAI.

Depends entirely on the person. There are some people that don't study much and can get a UAI of 99+ and then there are peoplewho have to study a lot to get a UAi of 99+

Your definition of "not much" is quite disputable and not clear in the sense that every individual is different.

I will follow on from what you just said. You mentioned that it depends on the individuals. But don't you think different amount of effort can be differently interpreted?

HSC itself, to great extent is highly memory-based. You will have to memorise the materials to do something. If someone received UAI over 99, I am pretty sure they worked to the extent where they could memorise the contents to pull off results that would eventually get them 99 UAI.

Thats true, but you also have to require skills and memory. You can't just have memory and pull off a UAI of 99+

Well, the core message I was trying to send is that having natural intelligence < trying your best effort to get all the required works done.

Re: What UAI/course are you aiming for?

Hey I posted here already but my thoughts have changed a bit :\

Realistically 97+
Idealisically 99+

Maybe Commerce? Comm/Law? All depends, I have no freaking idea at the moment. I keep changing.

I am sure even genius must pull his fingers out occassionally to get some memory work done.

Genius will not possibly thrive in the world of histories where quotes are quite crucial as evidences.
