If you're thinking of doing an IT course, take a look at the new Games Developer course they're starting next year at Hornsby TAFE. It's course number is 7510. Full of programming in multiple languages and some multimedia stuff in the first year.

Hornsby TAFE is the college that trained the World Champion in Web Design, Jarrad Langdon. Visit http://infotech.hornsby.tafensw.edu.au

Having already been involved in making a game/mod last year, this is one hell of a godsend, especially at this time of year.

Anyone know if it is part time or full time?

Twig, this course is only offered fulltime in 2006. Finish in two years, then either into a job or onto 2nd year of a BSc Games at UTS.

http://infotech.hornsby.tafensw.edu.au/eoi.aspx to register interest in the course. Check out the great outcomes for several students who took WorldSkills competitions through Hornsby TAFE IT section.

The course is going to be loads of work, but tremendous fun at the same time.

Oh, and tell your friends who want to be Games Developers......!

Although I was involved for a year or so, doing textures and then beginning 3d (with Zmod - will learn 3dsmax soon), I havent done any computer course at all at school - is that going to disadvantage me?

Express interest on the website and somebody will contact you.

The idea is to help you and others who are motivated and passionate about creating brilliant games to succeed. Look on the website how they helped Jarrad Langdon to succeed in Web Design.....he's World Champion! Five of their students have won National Competition medals in IT, three of whom have travelled overseas to represent Australia. Be inspired....!
