Why would you stop your favourite hobby? It doesn't make a difference if its sports, gaming, photography or whatever, you can't expect yourself to just study all the time and get very little enjoyment in your life. At my school at least, some of the most successful people are those who balance their study with socialising and other hobbies instead of just locking themselves in a room to study. Whilst working hard is a key factor to being successful in the hsc, still try to relax and enjoy your life !

I dont think it's necessary - having a solid work life balance during the HSC will probably bring you better results than studying all the time. Besides, establishing good habits in the area of work-life balance is highly beneficial for uni and life in general.

Hell no. I would often find my friends on steam playing games on an occasional basis and they still did extremely well. But ultimately it's up to you how well you manage your time.

You'll suffer withdrawal symptoms and binge on gaming again anyway, you should tone it down but certainly not quit cold turkey lol. Several of my friends are regular LoL/DOTA addicts and they still do extremely well academically- by addicts I mean that they play one or two games every day, and they spend quite a bit of time on weekends playing LoL as well, although when it comes to exam periods they stop completely.

Erase every game off your hard drive, and you'll find a whole lot of time on your hand. Dedicate that to study and possibly a new hobby which isn't so easily accessible.

Or learn self control, and be motivated enough to study. If you feel like playing a game more than studying, clearly gaming is more important to you and takes priority over your education.

Just designate times on when you can play LoL. I'm currently at a 2:1 ratio for studying and gaming.

However, if you can't control yourself just uninstall (works really well)

WHY WOULD YOU STOP GAMING LOL?

(srs)

I mean, sure if you want to stop in Yr 12 but yeah... enjoy Yr 11 too cause you won't get to enjoy much in Year 12...

Heck, I'll continue to watch weekly anime throughout my HSC.

Haha man, I personally made an account to post in this thread!

I'd suggest limiting gaming, because trust me LoL takes a lot of time from your day. Especially since you don't want to get banned for quiting!

Limit it too maybe 3 games a week or wake up early and play, study in the after.

I'm currently waking up at 5 AM to go too gym before my EXT1 Maths class at 7:30 =.=
