hopefully we don't have to, because if not i've already passed the course...which is good since i've been to like no part 2 lectures and haven't started studying for test 2 yet >_____>
yeah i should get my civil crew back together again.Omium said:lol definetly.
If you have friends in MATS with you do the tutorial online questions together. The tutorials are always EXACTLY THE SAME.
Also how did you go in your exams forbid?
]Forbidden. said:yeah i should get my civil crew back together again.
MATS1101 kinda looks like hsc chem.
as for the exams.
MATH1131 was fucking gay.
PHYS1121 was incredibly easier than previous years
ENGG1811 was damn awesome and its my top mark out of all others.
passed all at least thank god.
i took care of PHYS1121 now ive got CVEN1300 (Engineering Mechanics) which is physics all over again ...
ChemEng is looking very tempting and im enrolled in the flexible program so yea.
but i looked at the MATH1231 and holy fuck what is this shit?
I'm not sure.Omium said:]
lol, Is it possiblle for somone with 0 Programming background to get a HD or a D for ENGG1811?
Speak to some career advisers about some other engineering disciplines you never know what you'll like.
Oh, i transferred into Eng/Sci
I cant believe im saying this but im pretty sure im gana do a PHYSICS major for Science :S (betray my loyal and beloved Chemistry)
Ive looked at Courses for Physics. They seem soo interesting.
Astrophysics, Nuclear Physics, Quantum mechanics, Electromagnetism
(I could turn into one of those geeky nerds)
There's two right?Omium said:Forbid is there a "course pack" for ENGG1811?
and do we really need a textbook for it?
Well hey thanks buddy for condensing what I said. =\BIGTYMA said:no course pack.
textbook is not essential.
Trust me, Dont say your a plain "Physicist"Forbidden. said:oh man im in a dilemma.
do subjects/electives that are easy but boring or hard but fun?
physics looks so interesting i have to agree but i dont know ... womens will like me more if i say "oh im an engineer" rather than "oh im a physicist i study physics duh huh huh"
Do what Im doing 'Engineering / Science"Forbidden. said:But Astrophysics, Nuclear Physics, Quantum mechanics, Electromagnetism look pretty awesome topics but I don't know when we will set up more nuclear reactors around Australia because out of the 4 I would be a Nuclear Physicist if I wanted to be a physicist."
lol i know, everyone loves nuclear physics (2 hot girls in a shower)Omium said:Trust me, Dont say your a plain "Physicist"
You need to exaggerate and say "Im a NUCLEAR PHYSICIST" or "Im an ASTROPHYSICIST" They sound pretty cool.
Do what Im doing 'Engineering / Science"
The best of both, Im doing Chemical Engineering, and Physics.
Also they allow you to do 27UOC. and each Physics subject is 3uoc so you can kinda overload without killing yourself.
(Note Engineering/Science is 5years, Only one year extra to get a physics degree is pretty cool)
and ill see if i can transfer to engineering/science when i receive an e-mail at the end of the year regarding internal transfer (coz im enrolled as flexible)Occupation: Nucular Fizzicysts
Interests and Hobbies: Nucular Fizzshun
Books: Nucular Fiziks for Dummies, Roots and Forever by Judy Blume.
Hm, Im gana DEFINETLY NEED ThatForbidden. said:EDIT: i have complete workbooks for engg1811 last session if you like to check it out lol ... i got full marks for all labs
If i remember.... his name was Pat Photo-something?Forbidden. said:EDIT2: my materials lab tutor has so much lisps and grammatical errors in his speech in addition to his accent makes him hard to listen to![]()
BINGO!Omium said:Hm, Im gana DEFINETLY NEED That

I only spent $15 and that was for the course notes.Forbidden. said:For MATS1101 I have:
MATS1101 / MATS9520 ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY & MATERIALS:
Needed anyway and costs $15.
Chemistry the Molecular Nature of Matter and Change 4e:
Electronic copy LOL (40MB).
SI Chemical Data 6E:
$35 and because it contains useful data I can look up straight away
ENGINEERING MATERIALS (VOL 1) 3E:
~$75, is it worth it?
How much did you rely on it?
my friends doing mats1101 this session for first time and didnt buy this and she says oohhhh not worth it!.
Wikipedia PWNS.Forbidden. said:oy but what did you use to help you complete your lab reports?
the sheet itself, textbook and internet?.
Getting warm.Forbidden. said:but oy Omium you must be a pretty damn tough guy, I bet you named yourself after Osmium coz i saw in teh materials textbook that Osmium has a relatively huge density and modulus.
for online tutorials you mean the WebCT ones?Omium said:I only spent $15 and that was for the course notes.
The online tutorials for MATS1101 are AWESOME.
Trust me you dont need anything else.
Wikipedia PWNS.
For materials lab reports, you can sometimes look up the real values (such as UTS of a material) and fudge your figures to comply.
For Chemistry, internet is good
