Probably the easiest question there tbh. Hint: Body language isn't verbal.
Yeah I know, that's how I came to that answer. But team meetings would be physical and hence would have body language.

meh.

I put (A) Faulty sections on the disk for the scandisk one. Though I just had a look at Windows XP, 98se and NT4.0 and none of them have that, bleh.

it was disk fragmentation we were talking about it with the teacher afterwards
But the thing is scandisk has absolutely nothing to do with fragmentation...
it searches the disk for bad sectors and corrupted file structures and stuff...

but in a team meeting, you must talk (which is verbal) instead of just using body language.
Answering machines and telephone conversations also are verbal because its voice. Answering machines may not be real time but they sure are verbal...

Oh God. Stuffed up the Multiple Choice so bad.

Extended response were as easy as pie. I'm pretty sure I only got like 10 for MC now. I liked 21 and 22. Very easy to determine what to do.

And Team Meetings would be a verbal gathering is it not?

Question 13: Scandisk utility I put (d) the location of blocks
Question 14: OHS committee I put it as a standard (b)
grr, could you please explain these two :S

for 13, i hadn't heard of blocks before in my life so I went with A for faulty sectors.
I was wondering how it could be the location of blocks if the whole hard drive would have to be divided into blocks if such a thing were to exist and in that case, all the boxes should have a B...

Also, for 14, isnt it the OHS act? :S Link

thx

Re: How Was The Exam 2008!?!?!

Yeah I chose RTF aswell for the multiple choice question.

The question regarding the OH&S was bullshit but apart from that the whole exam was pretty straight forward imo.

I did 20 and 21 because they were easy to waffle on about pretty much anything in regards to what was being asked for, espically 20 (the joy of IT)

Fuck 22 though.

all this talk is making me nervous..

for the picture one it was confusing as..
i put the head with the helment. as safety.. the flameable one i thought was electriccty..

oh&s i put oh&s act.

scandisk?? wah?
i'll put defragmentation

and as for the extended responses i put q20 and q21

q22 was too hard..

the multiple choice this year was different than the others.. the old mc choices are more of spreadsheets and databasses (if you actually did pratice the IST mc you would of noticed)

any input anybody???

Re: How Was The Exam 2008!?!?!

i generally like multi choice because they require less writing, this year it was all good except for that OHS question :p

I did essay questions 21 and 22 cos 20 looked too open :S

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_storage
Most file systems are based on a block device, which is a level of abstraction for the hardware responsible for storing and retrieving specified blocks of data, though the block size in file systems may be a multiple of the physical block size. In classical file systems, a single block may only contain a part of a single file. This leads to space inefficiency due to internal fragmentation, since file lengths are often not multiples of block size, and thus the last block of files will remain partially empty. This will create slack space, which averages half a block per file. Some newer file systems attempt to solve this through techniques called block suballocation and tail merging.
Looks like I was wrong about the OHS committee then :p
