Does anybody know how to do question 16c) part two? Help would be greatly appreciated
Yeah I struggled with this one...apart from that fingers crossed all correct.
That said, it was still a very difficult exam. I had barely any time left.

The reason why trapezoidal rule was better than simpson's was because the top part of the tent was concave up which means that the trapeziums drawn from the points acutally arch over the actual curve and OVER-ESTIMATE the true area, so therefore trap's estimate of around 3.9 was over the real value. however simpson's gave 4.1, and we know the true value is below 3.9 which means simpson's overshot it by even more, meaning trap's estimate was closer

This is what I (sort of) tried to show. Not sure if my wording made any sense though...

Guys, I'm curious, Say for example someone gets a raw mark of 70.

On www.atarcalculator.com.au it says that its atar equivalent for mathematics (2u) would be 61.9.

Does that mean if someone got 70 in 2 unit they would get scaled down to 62?

IF so I think i'm screwed -.-

No. Your raw mark of 70 will get aligned to a band 5.

If someone got a Raw mark of 70 they'd be getting a band 5 bro.

No you don't enter the raw mark into the calculator, you enter the alligned exam mark. Like 70raw mark would be a mid-band 5 like 85, then you'd enter that 85 into the ATAR calculator. I think this is how they do it, not 100%

Your mark needs to be aligned based on the difficulty of the subject first, doesn't it? I may be wrong.
