Ohhh okay, so in a generator, positive charges don't flow towards the negative terminal, but instead the positive terminal? Makes sense.
For motors you have positive and negative terminals that are as a result of the power supply, but in generators there's no positive/negative terminals until it is rotated. When it is rotated and the charges go to each end of the coil that's when the terminals become positively and negatively charged. Since the positive charges go to the Y part, then it becomes positive since it has an EXCESS of positive charges i.e. a DEFICIENCY of electrons.
