Macs can boot Windows, they have the same hardware as any other laptop.its not the computers that don't appeal to me...its more the mac program...i prefer microsoft

Yeah, since your budget is $1000, you're better off getting a proper laptop so you don't want to smash the keyboard every time you use it.and in my situation, a laptop would be better than a netbook?
+1Look at Lenovo, Asus or Toshiba primarily, you generally get more for less with them. Also don't be afraid to shop around locally as well. I picked up my laptop for about $700 less than I could find it straight from Toshiba.
They're all good, some people might say that Dells break easily or Acers break easily but they're just unlucky, most of them are fine.
Do this if you can, if it's anything like the desktops then it will surely be worth the wait.Or should I wait for the Sandy Bridge ones to be released.
