Got just under the cut off...is there still a chance for me? (1 Viewer)

I got 0.1 under the atar cut off needed for a course I want to get into..is there any chance of still getting in or is that impossible?

Not impossible cause we don't know 2012 cut off yet, could be lower, could be higher, could be same. For you, you must hope it's lower.
Does the course or Uni offer bonus points?

Hmm so if it's the same then it's a no? I have no idea how these things work.. Also I don't believe there are bonus points for this course

How they work is simple.

All the kids with the 99.95 ATAR are allocated to their first preferences.

Now say there is a course with 100 places and 3 of them are taken up with students who got the top ATAR. Next UAC will allocate the next rank of students. Now suppose again that 8 places out of the 100 were taken up with that level. And so on - and then at 95.5 all 100 places are taken - then the cut-off will be 95.5. However if the 100th place goes to a student with an ATAR of 60 then the cut-off will be 60.

Ah thank you that makes a lot of sense! Um since the uni I applied for is Adelaide does my ATAR in nsw change at all in SA (like does it have to be converted or anything)

No, the ATAR is valid in all states except Queensland at face value.
