We write our own song we sign at our last normal school assembly, our Grad Mass and our Formal Leaving Assembly. We write ours on our RE retreat a few weeks ago, not the best, but it's nice. I want to be on the committee to make the PowerPoint and set the music, but I've got too many songs I'd like to have on there. Half of them are only relevant for a verse or chorus, like "Throw Your Arms Around Me" and "Last Goodbye", so they won't end up making it on to it.

In the mean time, my grade's not worrying about the formal assembly, we've started planning our informal one, sending up the teachers.

We noted down several songs like "Don't Dream It's Over", "Don't Look back In Anger" etc etc...but not the cliched ones...Finally...We parodied Frank Sinatra's "I Did It My Way" into "We Did It Our Way" and put in funny lyrics that applied to us. We had a great singer in our grade (she's performed at the Opera House) and asked her and her friends to do that. The tune stayed the same and it sounded great! That's when it becomes "your song"...
