What are the differences between these?
Where are the best places to study them?

If you're in one of those courses or had experience with them please voice your thoughts

Graphic Design is a specific area of design. You can get by with a TAFE degree and a good portfolio (your portfolio more than anything).

Visual Communication (at UTS at least) looks to be more of a art theory + practical design skill set, with a focus on a wider variety of publishing mediums, from digital to print, to typography etc.

Digital Media (at COFA I presume) is similar to visual communication, but seems to concentrate more on the digital elements of animation, flash, 3d stuff.

Thanks
I understand now

I sucks, UTS Vis Comm has ~95 uai
and doesn't require a portfolio or anything.....
ill never get into that this year...

Is that course really that good?

Ive done an interview for a bachelor of visual arts at Sydney
but I dont think that leads to graphic design
cos I want to design movie posters/advertisements, etc...

Dear Liam,

Another option would be the Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design at ACU in Strathfield. It offers a stream in Graphic Design, as well as anindustry placement component in the program. I don't believe that you need a folio for entry either.

Best wishes,

Well I got a Uai of 82.1

Would it be wise to i move UTS Viss Comm down from 1st preference and move up Sydney College of Arts and COFA UNSW? :mad1:

I've had an interview with Sydney... Does the UNSW one require further applications and statements?
