This is the formula used to determine the thermal energy of an object. It can be used to determine the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of (say) water, or it can be used with the Latent Heat formula to determine the amount of energy needed to change the state of the object. You will need to know the mass of the object, the specific heat of the object, and the change in temperature (which can be measured in C or K), in order to determine Q (or as you have it, H).
