2U Trig... I dropped 3U in week 2 due to lack of adequate brain cells.

Thank you <3 [tear]Cot and Cosecant are trying to destroy my self-estem.[/tear]
1/tan x = cot x, 1/sin x = cosec x and 1/cos x = sec x, thats pretty much it.

Yeah the textbook could have told me those ratios.
How do I apply them to mathematical problems?

Ok, say you have this question:
Solve cosec x = 2 for 0 < x < 360
now we know that cosec x = 1 / sin x
therefore 1/sin x = 2
multiply both sides by sin x, 1 = 2 sin x
therefore sin x = 1/2
therefore x = 30, 150, as the angle is positive only in the first and second quadrants.

More simply put, revert those trig functions to functions of sin, cos or tan ratios, then solve.

I had my half yearlies last week and this week. I stuffed maths up big time cause i had a mental blank during the exam so i got under 80 percent for sure. Agriculture and economics were pretty easy. I still have to do english, physics and chem which i need to cram for -_-.

yeah (it was wednesday) i did but there was some mix up with mine and i ended up getting a yr 12 answer sheet instead. grr.

there's also the maths competition this thursday. right on my day off as well.

did some stupid mistakes in my half yearlies...so painful! damn me and my mental blanks - i walk out of the hall to realise that i did something wrong.

only physics and maths 3u left...gotta do well in those to make up for everything else :p

Yes. My school pays for us (although we have to pay it back later i.e. before the end of the year) so we don't have to worry about getting money in on time. I found the science competition quite difficult... some of the questions that were asked required knowledge from parts of the syllabus that my school hasn't yet covered.

Ha, thanks dear :)

Meh, I didn't even know the science comp was on last week. I currently owe my school 2 bucks. They'll probably chase me down for it.

not everything is science. you don't need to know what lead nitrate is in a history essay.
