which one do you reckon is the hardest?
i know most in yr12 probably havent finished, but umm yea, just vote on the ones you've done so far

my school is behind i think, and we probably wont get harder 3U and maybe mechanics done b4 trials, but i heard that harder 3U is the hardest (is this true?) ... and we won't even have it tested in trials

I've done everything except some harder 3u. Here's my order:

Graphs
Complex Numbers
Integration
Polynomials
Volumes
Conics
Mechanics
Harder 3u

For me there was a big difference between mechanics and harder 3u.

This was how I found each topic from hardest to easiest (actually better to say hardest to least hardest :p):

- Harder 3U (total pain in the arse)
- Conics (didn't like this either)
- Polynomials (not too bad, some are quite tough though)
- Mechanics (so so)
- Volumes (alright, probably the most interesting topic)
- Integration (easy, except for reduction formulas)
- Graphs/Curve sketching (mostly easy, some graphs can be bastards though)
- Complex No's (probably the easiest)

volumes, integration, graphs, complex no.s seems to be nothing compared to the other 4. But they can always get infinitely hard, so it's really hard to say. I voted the last opt.

Graph sketching is the worst....

heres the order:

hardest ->>>>

Graph (I just can't draw)
Mechanics (long working)
Conics (long working)
Integration (very long working)

->>>>Easy
most others
Harder 3U is not that difficult

I seem to remember doing one of these last year ...

Hardest: Conics or Mechanics
Easiest: Complex Nos or Intergration

I think you are all crazy. I find complex numbers the hardest ( i have NO idea!) , then conics, then volumes, integration, graphs and ploynomials are all on about the same level.

Harder 3 unit might be just below conics (but I have only just done it and haven't had much practice), and I haven't started mechanics.

I hate it because:
1.) somethings are obvious.. but you will have to derive them anyway.
2.) the average length of my answer for a question = 1 page, compared to 0.3 for other chapters

With mechanics we've only done the resited motion part of it, and I just have absolutely no idea of what is going on. To me this is by far the hardest so far.

Try to think of mechanics as solving a series of differential equations.

Plus YAY, someone else voted for graph sketching!
does anyone have advice on what to do when sketching graphs in the HSC?

Can't believe 2 people voted for Curve sketching, it's one of the easiest topics. Not like Harder 3U or Conics.
