Have B.Arts - should I do BA/LLB or JD at USYD? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm about to finish a Bachelor of Arts and I want to start Law next year (2017). I am trying to work out the pros of either an LLB or a JD, can anyone confirm/deny the following or provide any additional advice?

BA/LLB
- I already have a B.Arts and hopefully will only have to complete the LLB portion - is this 2 years?
- Cheaper than a JD ?

JD
- Older cohort (I will be 29 when I start and I will feel old being amongst 18 year old undergrads in LLB!!)

I'd love to just get my Law qualification in the shortest amount of time.. haha.

Also, does anyone have to pay hefty "student contributions" (i.e. $10k/year) or is this almost always covered by HECS? Depending on your existing loan I suppose, whether it's over the limit?
