I was enrolled in a course at UOW for Autumn session last semester and transferred to a different course at USYD for this semester. I am currently detailed as on a 'leave of absence' at UOW and as far as I'm aware they don't know I am at USYD. So my questions are; am I allowed to be enrolled in another university whilst on a 'leave of absence'? And should UOW know that I am enrolled at USYD?

Yes, when you transferred you should've noted to them, let them know you transferred - I'm not sure how it works, and this is blurry but there could be some policy where you can't be enrolled in two different degrees in two separate universities.
