im a unsw student and when i go to my fee statement it says i owe $0.00 while stating that

Liability Status: Deferred Pay Option Post 05

and they've deferred the whole cost of my semester 1 fees (when what i want to do is make an up front payment). i'm confused cos the payment options i selected were (as taken from my hecs/help summary page):

11. In what way do you intend to pay your student contribution?

OBTAIN A HECS-HELP LOAN FOR ALL OR PART OF MY STUDENT CONTRIBUTION AMOUNT
(You must provide your TFN or a certificate from the Tax Office on or before the census date)

I DO INTEND TO MAKE A PARTIAL UPFRONT PAYMENT OF MY STUDENT CONTRIBUTION AMOUNT
(Payments of $500 or more will attract a 20% discount)

are these right?

my intentions are to pay the minimum $500 upfront payment but how can i when it says i have *no outstanding balance*?? and when i go to payment options it says the amount due is $0.00

i don't know if i'm exactly explaining myself properly but can anyone make sense of my jiberish?

i already went to student central today and they didn't make it any clearer but it looks like ill have to try asking again tomorrow.

Paying that money is just like starting to pay your HECS-LOAN off. You can start paying it off now to get a kick start or you can wait until later.

OK THANKS! I SHOULD HAVE BROWSED THROUGH THE THREADS IN MORE DETAIL..

now that thats settled i didnt even realise that fees were due this friday..

OMG

if i pay say tomorrow or on friday would my payment be processed and received by the uni before the cut off time?

i'd prefer to pay over the counter at a post office but it says 'The payment slip must accompany all over the counter payments'

wth i never got a payment slip!! was i meant to receive it in the mail with a fee statement or does unsw only provide fee statements over the net???

stressed out ere.......

EDIT: LMAO no worries i'm so stupid... i've got it all sorted out now :p
