What is the relationship between surface area and rate of reaction? Like a proper explanation for syllabus point 3B for prelim :)

have a think about it before you ask. It really is very very simple. What do you personally think is the relationship between surface area and rate of reaction ?

Try and develop some basic skills in year 11. they'll be handy next year

larger surface area=quicker rate of reaction

Larger surface area = larger area over which a reaction can take place = quicker rate of reaction.
If you keep the amount of something the same and increase it's surface area there is more surface exposed for the reaction to take place.
