Hello,
I was looking to make UNSW law/com but unfortunately I did not get an offer in round 2, ig my options right now are either external or internal transfer.

I have an offer from Macquarie law/com but also I had an early entry offer from ANU for double law is one option better than the other for external transfer? For ANU sucks going to Canberra but I can manage

But would it be worth it to do internal transfers instead? Also would it be worth not going for unsw transfer but usyd?
Sorry I'm not very familiar with any information right now any advice would help thank you very much

Hello! I just got an offer for USYD as a second year Med SCI student from MQ (2025). If you really want to go USYD/UNSW, you can always internally transfer. With this, you can go into a random degree (eg. bachelor of arts) and transfer in your second semester if you meet the requirements. Otherwise, you can choose to just go with the university that has offered you the degree and complete your sentence there. Apparently it is harder to externally transfer than internally. If you search up internal transfer guide for USYD/UNSW a potential PDF may be found (this method is used for MQ). If you didnt meet the requirements (i didnt get the atar i wanted originally) you can work your ass off and attempt to get a high WAM/GPA competitive enough for the degree. :)

ANU Law is a great program. If the end goal has to be UNSW, its probably best to do a different UNSW course and IPT in, or if you really want to do law subjects right now, go to macquarie over ANU instead.

From my experience, as soon as you start at a university, its going to be a significant mental hurdle to justify moving to another university - it is so much work, you have to deal with RPL conversions and all that rubbish. Plus, you've already made a routine of going to your university, have learnt all of the systems they use, and hopefully made some friends. This will be twice fold if you go to ANU, as you'll have built a life for the past year in a new city entirely.

I think if I was in your circumstances, I would enroll in ANU law and stay there for the full degree. It is a fantastic Go8 university (8 best research unis in Aus) and gives you a chance to study law where the law is made - you can make great connections there and living on campus is a unique experience. Plus, they don't have trimesters, and law students tend to hate trimesters more than anyone. People always talk rubbish about university rankings (which by the way, ANU is often leading for law, depending on the year and the ranking body), but as long as you're at a Go8 university, your education and employment outcomes will be identical. They all have very similar standards.
