hi ppl~

I am just curious, how much would a typical 1st yr graduate from USYD bachelor of Oral health earn/yr compared to say newly grad. physiotherapist??

What about employment prospect, which one is better? ( there are ppl saying that ppl from Oral health & dentistry degrees are at risk of increasing unemployment in the upcoming yrs, wondering if that's true at all?)

And how well would the salary progress upwards in the later yrs?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Not sure about Oral health + dentistry but for physio:

The starting average for physio is ~50k depending where you work.

For physio, the next few years will be looking very bright in terms of job prospects (well hopefully). In 2018 the NDIS will have fully rolled out across NS meaning that there will be more demand for community based physios. And also there the thing about the aging population, meaning that physios will be needed in all/most fields to accommodate this.

I'm pretty sure Oral Health isn't even in the same league as Physiotherapy. You shouldn't really be comparing those 2.

To compare it would be Physiotherapy VS Optometry and Medical Science VS Oral Health.

However in regards to the original question there is not much money at all in Oral Health. Nor are the job prospects looking good. Usually people move to dentistry after completing Oral Health (the successful ones anyway).

So Physiotherapy > Oral Health.
