hi. i'm starting a new job at maccas and i have to fill out my bank details online within 7 days. the trouble is, i don't have a bank account at present. would it be okay if i gave them the details of one of my parent's account for the time being? or would that be bad?

on a sidenote, how long does it take to set up an account with commonwealth?

I'm sure that you can give them your parents bank account details, and then change it at a later date.

Yeah just put your parents in there if its too late.

Otherwise you can start your own bank account [and bankcard] for free (no monthly fees - and usually 12 free withdraws a month) with any major bank. Just go online, fill out the form - print it off and go in with ID & school id. From memory they can get you sorted pretty quickly (within a day or so). Just make sure you have all the right forms. they may even be able to give you a card on the spot.

You can go into any bank with ID and set up an account on the spot usually within an Hour.

You will have to wait 7-10 days for a PIN and a card to be sent out.
