I have a bit of a lisp that I've gained from this weird exercise in singing lessons and I am playing a character, who of course, doesn't. Is there anything I can do to disguise or get rid of it?

I would reconsider what you're doing for singing lessons firstly. A good teacher wouldn't have you ending up with a lisp. There are vocal exercises you can do to get rid of it, but I recommend you see a professional about it. There's little I could tell you (apart from articulation) that you could actually put into effect by yourself.

The other option is to play the character as if they have a lisp. Make it a character choice.
