Can anyone please tell me some techniques and possibly some examples that are used in the fiftieth gate.

Multiple text types: fictional recreation, personal reflection, historical documents, discussions etc
Analogy: the 50 gates, where light represents knowledge and understanding whilst blackness (a reoccurring image) represents lack thereof

There's tonnes of different techniques in this book, try analysing it yourself but if you're stuck check out the resources section of this website because there are some pretty good notes in there about it.
