q1.A chairlift follows a direct line from a mountain peak (altitude 1400m) to a ridge (altitude 960m). If the horizontal distance between the peak and the ridge is 510m, find the angle of descent (to the nearest degree) from one to the other
^ wtf? can someone please draw a diagram +working out for this one. i dont get it at all


q2. The sun is overhead, casting a shadow length of 90cm from a 1.75cm scarecrow, which is no longer standing upright. determine the angle (to the nearest degree) that the scarecrow makes with the ground

This is a rough diagram I've drawn to help you for Q1. Your aim is to find alpha (labelled on diagram), which is your angle of descent, using trig.
