Hey guys

im in year 11 this year and want to choose music, over business studies but was told that in music it is very hard to get over 70 and it also scales your overall ATAR really low, can some help i really dont wanto do business studies. music is my passion ive been coming first in music for 2 years straight but i dont wanna stuff my ATAR up. because im aiming for law at UTS which requires 97 ATAR minimum?\

If you guys can youi post up your marks for all subjects you done and your atar so i can form a better view?

Are you absolutely sure you can ace this subject?
Music 1 is notorious for being a crappy scaling subject. You'll need to get into the high 80s, perhaps 90+ if you can manage, in order for it to be nice for your ATAR.
However, because you love music so much it may make your HSC year more bearable rather than studying for a subject you really don't like. I really enjoyed Music 1 and found it to be a very rewarding subject. It made for a nice break from my history subjects. It's a subject that needs a lot of dedication in order to achieve a high enough mark which will contribute to your ATAR (an 84, which is what I got, just doesn't cut it apparently).
That and there is no point doing a subject you don't want to do.

I did Music 1... but since I loved it so much I got a higher mark in it, thus being my best scaled subject (for atar)

If you enjoy it enough, you can and will do better in it than something you dont like (even if it scales crappy like music)

Also business doesnt scale that much better
