hay people!
I have an art theorie assignment.. and IM stuffed! I have had only 1 week to do it.. and I have been looking on the net at several artists, "HR Giger, Aerosole Piccaso", someone with an interesting point to show.. NOTHING!

"artist's often say what would otherwise remain unsaid".. discuss.. any help?.. preferably not femmenist?..

think about looking at war photobraphers. re: vietnam war, it was the first war on tv -- this meant it was showing a lot more than the blurb papers gave (eg "x" men died in such-and-such battle and whoever won). also, even with teh world wars, images could be quite gruesome and added more truth to the articles the media would present to the public. this shows that the photographer (ie the artist) was telling "what would toherwise remain unsaid". this is because the articles would be biased whilst the photos could be, to a degree, but would genreally represent a more "true" and "real" representation.

do you have artists/works for this assessment or do you choose your own?

Look at Piccaso's 'Gunica' (not sure of the spelling) but though the colour and figures in the painting he is saying what is unsaid about war i.e impact on society and also the bleakness in an event (war) the artist is exposing the negative side of this 'solution' to problem solving, as war is promoted as a positive thing. Hence the artist through this work is exposing what is unsaid, that being the grewsome 'negitive' of war.
