mental preparation. that way you dont go into the HSC with a false sense of hope, thinking it'll be easy. it makes you strive.

apparently.

what would be the most likely question that one would get in the half yearly. my teacehr said that there would only be one question, but didn't say what on. we are doing kennedy, but also, what is history?

our exam is only 1 hr long!!! what the heck am i menat to write during that time?!?!
LESLIE NO-ONE KNOWS WHATS GONNA BE IN THE TEST!
STOP TRYING TO CHEAT!
The question is gonna be, "why did leslie's 'beverly hills bakery' close down?" so you should be sweet.
All you have to do is study on knowledge based questions so when you get the essay you write a paragraph on each thing you know about the topic. Cos usually essay questions are really vague and you can write about anything just aslong as you somehow tie it to the question or statement.
I dont do history I do Experience Early Child. well to be honest you know what i do leslie and it aint either of them.

If it's only one question, then it's one hour for one essay. An hour per essay is actually a lot longer than you get in most exams (by comparison, English is 40 minutes per essay) so you should have enough time to write a substantial answer.
Does your school keep past papers? Looking at old midcourse exams will gie you a fair idea of the sort of questions asked.
Is your mid course assessable or not?
Actually for ext 1 english it's an hour per essay question as there is so much more to study than the advanced course. Hence the reason why you get more time, trust me, they're not being generous, you use every second (I should know I just completed my half yearly for ext 1 eng today.)

My school has no history extension mid courses, we've only got the trial HSC and our research project, what percentage is your mid-course and trial worth then? our trial's only like 10 out of the 50%
our trials only worth 5% :D

Ah. I wouldn't know anything about the EE1 exams, since we did a creative assessment rather than an exam to get our mid course marks (did that make any sense?)

I did a practise paper (the HSC 2002) and stuffed it up big time.
I only managed to summarise the historians, hardly used the source book at all and didn't make myself clear.
Dunno what's going to happen

i just did my history extension half yealr just about 40 minuntes ago. great news it was as good as i could have written i think. though i'm not sure whether it fit hte outcmoes that were intended for the course :|

well our question was how has the construction of the past been affected by evidence? well i think that was hte general gist of the question, i can't remembert he exact words of it.

well techie, i did what you advised!! it felt good to finally do something right :D

our q was how the construction of history has changed over time... basically you could mould it to whatever you wanted to talk about.
ah the beauty of the vagueness of the history ext question!

I had my half-yearly a couple of weeks ago.

The Question: With references to the source and other sources "What is History?".
I don't know if that was supposed to be an easy question, but I would have preferred something more specific. I don't reckon I really answered the question properly- My guess is that the teacher wanted us to order our essay in terms of concepts and debates but I structured according to historians. Also, I bassically wrote off the source in my intro to avoid having to write about it- probably not a good move.

Weighting: 5 % (out of 100).

I can never tell how I go in history extension essays. We did an in class essay half way through term 1, and I got 20/25 and came first in the class, but then we did another a week later which I caned, but then got 16/25 :((

Our half yearlu question was, With reference to the article and sources of your own choosing, discuss how the historian uses evidence.

?_?

I wrote 5 pages which is quite a lot for me, but, err, I rambled very aimlessly

if she initialed sefton it would confuse seftoners just as much if not more than non-seftoners.
