ohh thank you !

sighs i was really frustrated lol because i thought I DIDNT CHEAT and now there's this stupid rumour i used an ipod..

i wrote 5 pages, that's why. and everyone in my class was like.. WOAH! and i thouhgt they were probly starting a rumour, which got to your ears, hence your mentioning of the use of ipods a few posts ago.

alright ! ! thank god that's solved !

and yeah i can imagine people did use ipods. people up the back of my class i'm pretty sure i saw iwth their bags up on their desks, which means they probably had some preprepared essay on the table concealed so that they could copy it without the teacher noticing and giving them zero, or maybe they had an ipod or something..

yeah, well i would never cheat just for some marks - lol for our half yearly commerce exam , i found out what the extended response was on trade unions coz i heard people talking about it, so i went and told davis and asked her to change it because i didnt feel right knowing it before hand and gaining an advantage. and then she did change it :p

so yeah. i would be the last person to cheat, which is why i was quite offended or .. i suppose kinda taken aback.. when you mentioned it.

but yeah thanks for clearing that up! :uhhuh:
it isnt a rumour =.=;;

and i wrote more than you :p

btw..we're allowed to wer senior uniform from tomoorow..yes ?

hmm 18/20 is pretty good - but at least you know you achieved it honestly, and i definitely think maintaining integrity is FAR more important than the school certificate, lol.

hmm for the migrant groups - you basically need to outline everything dalie sed. just make sure you discuss experiences.
Um.... so you're saying that because certain students decided to prepare for the trials by looking over past exams, and those questions just happened to be in the exam, they have dishonestly attained good marks?

That seems a pretty unfair claim to me.

i mean that they achieved their mark honestly in the sense that they really had a solid grasp of the course content and answered the questions in the moment based on the knowledge they had acquired through study - and hadn't seen the questions before-hand.

Whether you see the questions before hand or not, you either know the answer or you dont, personally, i think its very unfair to say their marks are acheived less honestly then someone who had not seen the questions. Doing past papers is a highly valuable form of study, why should they receive slander for having an intelligent approach to their studies?

ok, well im sorry if you took personal offence to my original and modified remarks.

i guess the whole point is that I was saying that Student A should be commended on a good score of 18/20, as having not seen the questions before hand in practice, they have reinforced that their knowledge of the course is rather substantial and this provides a sense of hope for their history school certificate.

i didn't mean anything further.

now im sorry if you read into it and decided to extract from my comments that I was implying that students who took an 'intelligent approach' to study should receive criticism.

I understand that past papers is a valuable form of study, and Students B, C, D etc. deserve commendation for utilising this perfectly legitimate form of study to maximise their marks. At the end of the day, it is the history faculty's fault for not allowing all students to be on a playing field where all were equal in the sense that no-one had previously viewed the questions.

It is in no way the fault of the student that got 18/20, nor the students who scored 20/20. Ultimately, it is the fault of the teachers for being so careless, lacking motivation and being rather lazy in their approach to trial examinations.

Once again, I apologise.
