I left school after year 10 and had pretty good marks just no idea what I wanted to do so I just worked/saved. Recently I had originally signed up with UWS Foundation Studies where you complete the course and once you pass its an instant acceptance into the UWS course related to your Foundation Studies. Anyway I saw the only schedule I could have and it turned out to be pretty full on, 5 days of study a week and one week was a straight 7 hours of classes, obviously leaving no time for work or a social life. Also considered the TPC through TAFE but I've been told even that can be 5 days a week (have also been told it can be no more than 20 hours of study per week).

If my main goal is to get into UWS Bachelor of Science (Zoology) where should I be aiming to sign up for the second semester of this year? Or if anyone could shed some light on alternate pathways into the degree that'd be very much appreciated. Unfortunately I'm mid 20's now so I do classify as a mature aged student but along with that comes the responsibilities most people have once they get to their mid 20's hence why I thought there'd be time to fit in work etc, even just a part time job.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you :)

Since you did not complete your HSC, you can expect most alternate pathways to have similar hours and days to what you would in a high school.
I'd go for UWS personally because it specifically prepares you for the course you want to do and it's guaranteed acceptance.
But I guess if you do it at TAFE you have a broader range of universities to choose from that provides the same course if you do well.

As for work, you'd probably need to do evening shifts/weekend work and such.

Since you're older than 21, another option for you to get into uni is through doing the STAT without doing all that foundation stuff at UWS, I believe. Here's the link to it if you want to have a read.

Here is a link telling you which universities accept STAT:

I recommend for you to get into UNSW Bachelor of Science with a major in Zoology through STAT over the route of UWS foundation studies followed by a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at UWS--UNSW has more prestige and more resources than UWS, I believe (I'm not having a go at UWS by the way)--but that's just me. Travel is a killer though if you choose UNSW and you live in the west or south-west of Sydney (3-4 hours to UNSW and back home if you live close to the train station).
