I had an ATAR of 67.90. The course I applied to: Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Business and Commerce at UWS : had a 90+ ATAR.

Even with bonus points (the maximum you can get is 10 or 15 I think, even if you are eligible for all the schemes) my ATAR could not meet the cut off. I got this offer in the June Round 2 offers.

Anyway...congratulation of gaining into that degree even if u have a low ATAR...I am also scared that if I got an bad ATAR I would not be accepted into anything

Hahaha are you serious? That's ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the people who get in with very low ATARs are offered because they need to fill up spots in the course.

I think I know why uws is looked down upon.....

Well it is better to have some half-dumbass fill up that one spot in the lecture theatre and give $4K of hecs every semester than to leave that spot empty

Don't forget it's a total of 10k a semester the uni gets because of government subsidies. students pay 40%, gov pays 60%.

Ohh shit that's right. So in essence if there are say 10 people extra in each course and there are (iirc) "over 100" courses at unsw (according to a brochure I read a few months ago) that means they are making at least $1mill by letting these people in

then if prestige is something; transfer later on. But don't be like someone i know that wants to just get into unsw so be can say "i go to unsw" but is barely passing everything

That's not uncommon. Majority of med science/science kids have that as their number 1 plan.
