Hi everyone

I'm not that worried about it but I am just interested in how my subjects scale.

Subjects for yr 12
- English Standard
- Religion 2 unit
- Legal Studies
- Economics
- Modern History

(I am dropping general maths)

1. What would be the order these scale from best to worst?
2. Top 2 hardest subjects out of these?
3. Is it true that English Standard will kill your atar unless you get above 85?
4. Does economics scale up alot? An example maybe?

Hey I noticed that you take similar subjects to the ones I will be taking next year (2 unit religion, modern history, legal studies, economics, I'm also taking advanced english + 3 unit maths) just wanted to ask, is the workload manageable??? I was worried with my choices earlier as a lot of people have told me most of these are 'content heavy'. If you can let me know that would be great thanx

As for your questions, these are not accurate as I am only in yr 10 but from what I have heard:
1. Economics (hardest out of them) don't know the rest of the order
2. top 2 hardest: economics + modern/legal/english (this will be very biased)
3. Not sure but I think it will be more difficult to get a high mark compared to Advanced English.
4. Can't give example but it does scale up a lot if you do well (also depends on how well students do in your class too)

Standard won't kill your ATAR if you don't get above 85, unless you do bad in the rest of your subjects. If you do good, then it won't

Thanks so much for your answer I would defiantly say they are content heavy. Religion is pretty easy though and most people do well in it or at least easily pass it. I find economics is REALLY content heavy and not that enjoyable, heaps of terminology and interpreting graphs and stuff. Legal is alright but once again lots of content in terms of legal terminology especially but it's more interesting than economics haha although I heard it doesn't scale very good at all. Modern is quite hard unless you generally love history and can write essays very well. I think you have good choices though and can also change if you don't like any of them

89 raw in Economics does not align to 95, roughly 92-93, not sure why you said this.

2. How would I know? You may find Economics hard whereas I may find it easy. There are no universal 'hardest' subjects, it depends on the person.

3. Considering that only a minimal amount of people get Band 6s in Standard English, then anything under 85 I would not do justice to your ATAR.

4. Depends on your mark and cohort.

Someone got b6 in standard at my school last year. Don't listen to them ^. Put in the effort and you can do it.
