How do you listen to music? MP3 player, iPhone, Radio, vinyl?

If the 50’s and 60's were the era of the record, in the 70's we had tape, (lovely 8-tracks and cassettes!), and the Sony Walkman, then CD's in the 80’s and now MP3's.

This Day in Music is running a poll to find out how you listen to your music.

I've got a gaming headset which is pretty decent for listening to music.

CD players cost like $2000 in the 80s.

Bose and Beats are single handedly the most overpriced piece of equipment in the audio world. The only product to top them in terms of pointlessness are Skullcandys but no one over 14 buys them anyway.

Foobar2000 or iPod as source. Logitech Z-2300 for speakers. Headphones - MS-1, AD700, RE0

Listen through my computer with headphones, as computer is laptop --> crap speakers.
Headphones are Sennheiser CX400II, quite nice with a great bass response.
Anywhere else I use my iPod.

Quality headphones do make a different. Sennheiser make great headphones that are generally neutral headphones that are great for all types of music, but you can always buy them tuned to a particular genre.

I listen to my techno with a some $20 headphones from DickSmith. But now EVERYONE has been telling me to get a decent pair of headphones $50+, with an epic bass function, cause apparently it makes all the difference
