I'm currently preparing to take my HSC at the end of 2015 and am hoping to take an undergrad course in architecture.

Basically, I have a few questions
1. How important is it for me to have a portfolio? Like, by how much would I be limiting my choices if I don't prepare one?
2. What am I supposed to put in my portfolio? What type of art is accepted or recommended?
3. How would I layout my portfolio?
4. Is there any benefit in continuing Design & Technology? I'm very confident that I'll be able to get As in all my other subjects if I drop it
Note: I got a new teacher in year 12 and he's currently saying that my class is at a C standard AT BEST. Our teacher for the past 4 years was terrible.
5. How stressful is it to study architecture?

If anybody is able to provide me with a sample portfolio or something like that I'd be really really grateful :)
