it depends on how you define what an imaginative journey is. http://www.boredofstudies.org/community/showthread.php?t=25472 Look there at the different definitions people give you. I'd probably relate it to a physical/inner journey, but anything can be stretched to its limits. As long as you can see it is an imaginative journey and can provide evidence, then you should be fine :)

2moro when the war began

I saw TWTWB on my list of imaginative journeys and i thought WHAT?!... but someone explained to me that because Aust hasn't really been taken over by terroists and its all in john marsdans head.. that makes it an imaginative journey. many composers have created journeys of the imagination which thrill the audience because they are so from the realistic.
But i guess if this is the case then most stories are imaginative journeys.... so i dont know. but maybe that helps!

If I was you I wouldn't do Tomorrow When The World Began as my supp. text. It's too much like either a physical journey or an inner one. You'd be better off choosing something different. There are heaps of good texts out there!

as far as I understand almost anything can be interpreted as an imaginative journey. Pretty much if anything was imagined it counts, like in tomorrow when the war began none of that really happened and was quite imagined.
I've been told not to choose texts that are very literal though, try and choose something that might be a little open to interpretation of a little out there.

Tomorrow when the War began can relate to an Imaginative Journey because the story, the characters, etc all stem from the imagination of John Marsden. The situations faced by the characters are fictious. Marsden also explores aspects of society such as war, etc That is what I understand it to be - hope it helps!

the book is pretty good but i wouldnt recommend anyone to do it, for any type of journey. its too ambiguous and difficult to contrast with anything if not impossible.

here's an extensive list of texts i would use:

INNER
Movies
American Beauty - The last few scenes where the guy (sorry can't remember his name) is reflecting on what has happened as he dies.
LotR - there's heaps of sences in this Frodo and what happens to the ring. Aragon's choice with the Paths of the Dead. The decision of the fellowship to send Frodo and heaps more. The books are sometimes better.
Moulin Rouge - At the end where Satine tells him she doesn't love him and how he goes back to find out why.
Rabbit Proof Fence - The Journey of the girls and there perserverence to make it home regardless of the distance.

Books
The Tommorow Series - There's heaps in these books. The inner journey of any of the characters and how they manage to deal with the idea of a war so close to home.
Letters From the Inside - The stories of the two girls lifes and how they deal with them.
Firesong - Inner journey of Bowman and Kess when they leave their parents.

Poems
Footprints - Kindda self explanitory

Songs
Cats in the Craddle - The father and how he realises that his son is "just like me."
Superman - "even hero's have the right to dream"
