my essay is on the Trojan War but it overlaps too much into the preliminary syllabus of Troy does that mean i hab 2 change topics

I think it's up to your teachers. It's probably best to ask them

yeah if your teacher gives you the go ahead go for it - esp. since they're the ones marking it. at my school we got given a list of all the prelim and hsc modern and ancient topics so we wouldn't overlap but i suspect that it had more to do with keeping them awake and interested when they have to mark than anything else.

hey ppl, I haven't really read the posts 4 ages and I saw this 2day and I'm also kinda in the dillemma as well. I posted before that I was doing John Howard and the consequences of his years in office, etc - but I also became influenced by something just days ago - I read da Vinci code ( <---AHH! I know!!!) and I'm interested in maybe changing my topic. My final draft of my proposal was due in about a week or so ago, I've had a bit of trouble making sure it was more or less perfect so I asked for an extension and my draft for the essay is due in @ the end of June, with the project being fully submitted in the beginning of Term 3.
Some of you have mentioned that it will be ok - but I have put alot of work in my origional project - however it much more difficult and has less connections to historiography. And for those who have read the Da Vinci Code - it's a hell lot more interesting!

And I'm scared s****less of asking my teach cause she is kinda scary and I don't think she'll be very pleased knowing I'm changing now... Should I just go for it and ask her?

Hey Sasky,

Take it from someone OBSESSED with Da Vinci Code, it's a great thing to do ANYTHING with. However, what historiography are you exactly trying to extract? You could probably focus on the debate surrounding the holy grail and such, well there's lots of controversies contained in the book...but before you make any rash decisions have a clear purpose and aim in your head.

Then, go chat with your teacher, explain your dilemma (being bored etc) and bounce off the idea of something to do with Da Vinci (remember, have this idea solide first!)

But yeah, personally I reckon it could rock. I just changed my topic officially recently, so I think you've got loads of time!

yea i revised my topic around now...u still have time..hey i wrote my first drft the week beofre it was due...and still by the end of the wek had prduced an essay which eventually got top marks...so yea dont stress too much lotsa time left!
