For both my Essay and Creative, I'm getting around 9-10 pages.

However, I noticed that the "exemplar" responses on the ARC are 15-25 pages.

Do I need this?

How many words are your essay and creative? They expect around 1.3k-1.4k words each (so roughly around 17+ pages altogether). Obviously it's quality > quantity but since they ask for so much to be included in our essays you'd need that many words to have a good solid argument.

It also depends on the size of your writing though. However, I know that some state ranking students in EX1 have managed to have only around 1100 words or less in their essay and creative. So just focus on adapting to the question at this moment.

My teachers have recommended 1400-1700ish words, I think that's around 12 pages. It's not a hard and fast rule obviously but given the depth of EX1 they expect you to write in depth as well, and most of the time this is better achieved with more content. Yes it's quality over quantity but why not more quantity if you can have more quality? Also if we take into account the fact that Eng Adv essays are expected to be 1000 words in 40 mins, then it translates roughly into 1500 words in 1 hr (which is the time you will get in the exam) for EX1.
