How many words can you write in an 40 minute essay? (1 Viewer)

How many words can you write in a 40 minute time period, for say...english, history, etc..?
And do you think 1100 words is achievable in 40 minutes.

Well, in my yearly I managed to write 6-7 pages for Adv (creative/analytical)
about 10 for ext english (both creative/analytical)

This is weird, i think for one of my prelim yearly essays for history which i spent roughly 40mins on i only wrote ~650words.(7-10pages)
And I'm pretty fast at writing, so how are you guys managing 1000+ words in 40mins?

I wrote 130 words in 4 minutes. 4x10 = 130x10 = 1300 words. I did infact take in account tiredness, so it works out to be roughly 1080 words. But, this work wasn't necessarily NEAT. I am practicing writing my creative writing story now and i will be timing myself to see if i have enough time to write it all. practice for the HSC, y'know

My story is: 1078 words.

I could write like 1100-1200 words for english as I had to keep stopping to think whether I was on track or not.

I could write well beyond 1300 words if it was biz studies

Okay back. I finished writing my English essay in 40 minutes, the essay was 1078 words, and i completed it RIGHT ON THE 40 MINUTE MARK. So, therefore, i will cut back 100 words or so, just to be safe.

I write ~900-950. 950 is a struggle. I have to make sure my content is very very good as a compromise.

About 1100. Quality over quantity is what your aiming for. No one cares how many pages you can shit all over.

it always took me 20 minutes to write out one full typed page.
i looke back at one of my essays and 2 full typed pages was 1283 words
so in 40 mins, around 1200 for me. but it just depends how fast you are. but i think that 1100 is definately achievable.

Just a note, I did ~950 in my 2U exam today and it was 16 pages (I write on every second line and my writing is massive). It was actually very very legible thanks to the spacing and as such, will make my marker's life easier. Also, having that many pages implies you wrote enough, which helps in my case because I write less than 95% of people.

1100 is definitely possible, I wrote about that much in today's exam with 5min spare to check over it. It was about 4-5 pages, normal spacing etc.

For paper two, it depended on the module. Mod C I wrote 1500, a little less for Mod A and a little less for Mod B. The only reason Mod B was the shortest was because I spent ages perfecting and condensing. In two hours, I reckon I would have wrote close to 3500-3800, so yeah, it works out around the same as what previous people are saying. 1000 words per essay should suffice though. In retrospect, I should have spent more time perfecting and condensing the other modules! XD

For english I write approx 1500 words in 40 mins, although I write pretty fast and its readable

about 80% of my year group wud have written essays of >1000 words in 40min by the end of the HSC,,,it's something that my yeargroup improved at as the year went on. So dw if u cant do it now, with consistent practice and work u will be able to do it xD

Today in my English exam, i wrote my essay of 1078 words in 40 minutes + an estimated 200 extra words. So it is very possible
