Wanted to heard everybody out on what is their understanding of the appropriate amount to write, I've been told that you need to write at least 1.5 page in the HSC, so like 1 A4, (Apparently the booklets are bigger) to get the full marks safely according to a NESA marker, post 2020 since the style of question has now conformed to a recognisable format, and marking has changed since.

Bruh I was gonna half a page, not one and a half tf
We should be fine as long as answer the question explicitly and maybe provide examples of explanations that suite the mark value?

Bro as long as you have the information in there you'll be fine, there's a reason that they don't give us the lines on the actual paper like other exams and that's because there's so many different ways that a person could answer it. If they wanted specific lines, they would've given us the lines on the paper as the expected amount, and since they didn't they can't mark you down if you wrote less but had the same info as someone who wrote more.

doesn't the fact that they don't give lines suggest that they expect large amounts of writing? because if everyone was writing like less than a page i think i'd be feasible to add lines, but I don't think that's the case so they give paper because its probably not that uncommon for people to write more

true but even then, what do you think would get more marks? a student who wrote more but doesn't have good information which answers the question or student who wrote less and has enough information to answer the question. But overall as a guide my teacher said that don't focus on the amount of space you use focus on the quality of your answer and that pretty much helps a lot more than writing too much.

Yeah I try to be concise, like one or two sentences per question for 2-3 marks questions. For 5+ marks it's a lot more obv
