got 89.4 uai

i didnt study at all

apart from the day b4 assessment tasks, and about a week leading up 2 the exams

just pay attention and do the work in class
Same here, and I got 79. I never did homework either, our teachers were slack in dat department.

If there was one thing Id change though, it would be that I studied for 3+ weeks b4 the HSC, then you could easily get a UAI of like 90+.

The HSC is over-rated, it isnt really that hard, what makes it hard is the pressure put on you by thinking its hard!

Yeah, me too. My school diary advises that 30mins of hw should be set per lesson (we have a four-period day) for students from years 10-12. Just do as much as you think you can handle, and still learn effectively for.

i know this chick who did the hsc last year. she got home from school at 4 studied and did homework till 2AM EVERY NIGHT and all day on weekends from 7am till midnight and she was usually up at 6am to work till 8 each morning too...this is no joke, she did 13 units at school and a tafe course on french (seperate from school), thats like 15 units!!!

her uai was 97.9...i was expecting her to get 99 at least, but she was happy with the result....me... u would be lucky if i do 1 hour a week but im still above class average.

We should study as much or as little as we want.

sweets: I like the sig!

Yeah I don't see how people can be productive with 6 hours non stop study. I mean personally, when I get home I'm burnt out and so tired I don't feel like doing anything.

My year adviser suggests that we should do at least 6 hours of study/ homework but I find that really impossible because I hav basketball and tennis training plus the games, I work 2 days a week, I'm on my L's so I'm trying to get up my hours, and It takes me an hour to get home.

What about you guys, how do you find the time? maybe I just need better time management.

Any helpfull suggestions???
they actually tell u 6 hours a night... -_-'... see this is the reason why there is mass HSC suicide and dropping out. I'm maxing out 4 hours and that's when I feel like studying, some nights I do nothing. Work it out for yourself, 6 hours is unrealistically pathetic, 1 or 2 will get you there, 3 to 4 is comprehensive. 6 is like exam time.

6 hours is definitely excessive.

basically, just get your homework done, and keep your notes up to date. if it takes you less than two hours to finish all your homework, then you're not getting enough and you need to take the initiative and study on your own. it's a good idea to write and learn notes as you go, so you dont have to frantically cram everything the night before the exams.

during year 12, i studied about 3-4 hours a night, 4-5 nights a week, and i got over 99. as long as u pay attention and write notes as u go, u dont need to give up ur social life.

do you homework. however long that may take (maybe 1-2 hours a night?)
take notes in class

cram before exams with past papers and such

that's all i did and i managed >90

i don't know any person who can manage 4-6 hours a night :/
but no doubt it's better then my method.

Have one night a week where you don't study. This gives your brain a chance to relax and you're less likely to burnout. Balance is the key!
