hey, just wondering how do you get dux of your school? is it based upon who gets the most first place subjects? If so, how do they compare a hard subject to a easy subject?

For the HSC students at mine I'm pretty sure it's the highest ATAR, whereas other years its most/best placing...

It was the same at mine - they awarded it post HSC to the person with the highest ATAR.

It depends on the school. Sometimes highest aggregate has been used.

We have two awards. One for the 'Most Outstanding Student' which is based on firsts and seconds. Like what has been mentioned above we have a dux which is awarded the following year to the highest ATAR.
