How to plan arts degree? (1 Viewer)

This is on behalf of my friend - she plans to major in English at usyd. She basically wants to know how to plan her first year i.e she knows that she has to do at least 12 credit points of core english but what else does she need to do/choose from? Thanks

I guess it depends on whether your friend is doing full time or part time study and the degree rules of the university.

I'm taking on full-time study with a double major in German Studies and History. I have to start with level one subjects first and to make up the full-time quota, I have to choose two electives per semester. So my first year is going to look something like this;

Semester 1

Beginner's German 1A
History 1105
English (elective)
Classical Studies (elective)

Semester 2

Beginner's German 1B
History 1106
European Studies (elective)
Film studies (elective)

That is the beauty of the Arts degree!! You can do so many different things
